rump feather English
A rump feather is located between the back feather and the upper tail coverts of a bird. A rump feather of a golden pheasant is bright gold, and is a good substitution for crest. Because the rump feathers of many birds is made of soft fiber and the fiber moves delicately, Jack Gartside of Boston uses it for Rump Caddis and Sparrow.
